How Much Concrete Do You Need for a Slab?
Plan a concrete order with the dimensions of your project in mind.
Measure length, width, and depth
For a rectangular slab, measure the length and width in feet. Measure thickness in inches, then convert it to feet by dividing by 12. Multiply length by width by depth to calculate cubic feet. Divide that result by 27 to estimate cubic yards.
Allow for real site conditions
Excavation, uneven subgrade, forms, reinforcement, and the final finish can all affect the amount needed. Ready-mix suppliers may also have delivery minimums or a lead time. Confirm the thickness and mix design needed for your project before placing an order.
